Herbert Diess nebude od 1.7, séfem VW Group, tedy Volkswagen AG. Prevezme pouze od Martina Winterkorna vedení znacky Volkswagen osobní vozidla, tedy Volkswagen Pkw. Winterkorn nadále zustává predsedou predstavenstva Volkswagen AG.

Dr. Herbert Diess to take over as Chairman of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand at the earlier date of July 1, 2015
Dr. Herbert Diess will take up his appointment as a full member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG at the earlier date of July 1, 2015. This was confirmed by the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft on Friday. The appointment thus comes into effect three months earlier than originally planned and is the result of an agreement between Diess and BMW AG, where Diess held the post of Member of the Board of Management responsible for Development.
In his capacity as a member of the Group Board of Management, Diess will take over as Chairman of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand from Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, who remains Chairman of the Group Board of Management. In the context of this appointment the new function of “Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Passenger Cars” is to be set up in the Group Board of Management.

Dr. Herbert Diess wird bereits mit Wirkung zum 1. Juli 2015 zum ordentlichen Mitglied des Vorstands der Volkswagen AG bestellt. Das hat der Aufsichtsrat der Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft am Freitag bestätigt. Der Wechsel erfolgt damit drei Monate früher als zunächst geplant und wird durch eine Einigung zwischen Diess und der BMW AG ermöglicht, bei der Diess Vorstand für den Bereich Entwicklung war.
Diess wird in seiner Eigenschaft als Mitglied des Konzernvorstands den Vorsitz der Marke Volkswagen Pkw von Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn übernehmen, der weiterhin als Vorsitzender des Konzernvorstands fungiert. In diesem Zusammenhang wird innerhalb des Konzernvorstands ein neues Ressort „Vorsitzender des Markenvorstands Volkswagen Pkw" geschaffen.
